Digital Channels
ITV’s family of digital channels - ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV - are broadcast free-to-air on Freeview, digital satellite (Sky/ Freesat) and cable, and are entirely funded by advertising and sponsorship. ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4 are now available in HD behind the paywall on Sky. The channels are performing very well, particularly ITV3 which saw its SOCI increase by 24% in 2010. ITV2 and ITV4 also increased their SOCI in 2010 by 3% and 17% respectively.
ITV2
ITV2 launched in 1998 and was followed by ITV2+1 in 2006. ITV2 is particularly targeted at the younger 16-34 year old demographic. The schedule includes a mix of original commissions, spin-offs from ITV1 programming, movies, US acquired series and repeats.
ITV2 broadcast 152 programmes which attracted more than 1 million viewers in 2010, 24 more than in 2009. It was the top multichannel station in 2010 in terms of its Adult SOCI at 4.5% and in terms of its ABC1 Adult SOCI at 3.9%. It was also the second station in terms of 16-34s SOCI with 6.2%.
The Xtra Factor Result was the top programme of 2010 on the channel with 2.7m viewers. Furthermore, the new reality series The Only Way is Essex peaked on ITV2 with 11% share of 16-34 Adults and was recommissioned, winning an award at the 2011 BATFAs.

ITV3
ITV3 launched in 2004 and is aimed at an upmarket audience with a schedule including repeated ITV drama, acquired programming, films and some original content.
ITV3 was the UK’s second largest multichannel station in 2010 in terms of its Adult SOCI with a 4.2% share. On ITV3 25 programmes achieved over 1 million viewers, 21 more than in 2009. The top programme on the channel in 2010 was Midsomer Murders, averaging 1.4 million viewers. During the year 482 programmes achieved over half a million viewers compared to 252 programmes in 2009.

ITV4
ITV4 launched in 2005 and targets young male viewers, with a schedule including live football, IPL cricket, Tour de France cycling, classic repeated drama and US acquisitions.
ITV4 grew its volume of impacts by 17% in 2010 and was the UK’s fifth biggest multichannel station in terms of SOCI in its target male demographic.
ITV4 broadcast 11 programmes achieving over one million viewers, 6 more than in 2009. The Ashes Highlights averaged 1.2 million viewers

CITV
CITV is ITV’s channel for younger viewers. The channel previously timeshared with ITV4 until 2008 when ITV4 expanded its broadcast hours to become a full 24 hour channel. It is on air every day between 6.00 am and 6.00 pm and features a range of UK and imported children’s programming such as Horrid Henry, My Parents are Aliens, Wolves Witches and Giants and Atomic Betty. Horrid Henry was the channel’s top programme of the year in 2010 with 0.4 million viewers and 3.4% children’s SOCI.
