Shows with the biggest impact on audiences and the smallest impact on the planet

Sustainability strategy overview with four pillars: Net Zero, Supply Chain, Circular Economy, and Culture. Net Zero focuses on science-based decarbonisation by 2030 and 2050, including reducing controlled emissions by 46.2%, influenced emissions by 28% by 2030, and reducing all emissions by 90% by 2050. Supply Chain aims for a 100% sustainable supply chain by 2030 and supporting smaller suppliers to improve their environmental impact. Circular Economy targets zero waste by 2030, with 90% of all waste reused or recycled. Culture focuses on supporting climate action for colleagues and audiences, including 100% of colleagues completing climate action training, programmes in the UK receiving BAFTA albert certification, and delivering the Climate Content Pledge.

Our Climate Action programme

ITV has an ambitious and robust climate action programme that touches all parts of the organisation. We are transforming the business and working with stakeholders across the industry and across our value chain to have as broad an impact as possible on our journey to Net Zero.

Net Zero

ITV is committed to achieving Net Zero, with an initial target of 46.2% reduction of carbon emissions we control and 28% reduction of carbon emissions we influence, by 2030, and 90% reduction of all carbon emissions by 2050. These targets are validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative.

Zero Waste

We are continuously taking steps to improve our data quality and monitor waste in our offices and production activities, all while working towards a circular economy.

Shaping our culture

To cultivate an engaged culture at ITV, we run internal climate action campaigns and offer training to all employees. Our typical campaigns feature sustainability-themed competitions, climate action showcases, and donation drives. Climate action is embedded within all areas of the business.

Innovation

Innovation is at the core of any creative industry and TV production is no exception. In order to come up with the biggest and best shows while cutting our emissions, we foster a culture of change and experimentation.

Collaborating across the industry

ITV collaborates with suppliers, as well as peers across the broadcast, streaming and production industries to achieve our goals while contributing to the Net Zero transition across the media sector

Recognition for Climate Leadership

ITV was awarded an A score by CDP, which recognises our leadership in environmental transparency and performance on climate change over the past year.
